About our farm
In 2005, we, Jan and Anja, took over the farm from Jan’s parents. The farm is home to Blonde d’Aquitaine beef cattle, a horse boarding facility and a campsite.
Our cows go outdoors in early spring to enjoy the fresh grass. They graze on the natural grasslands of the Loonse en Drunense Duinen. In winter, the cows are housed in a straw-bedded barn, where the calves are born. The calves stay with their mothers for at least 5 months so they can drink their milk. This helps keep our cows healthy, with very little need for medication.
In 2021, we added a farm shop selling quality meat from our own cattle. The meat carries the 2-star Beter Leven certification. We also offer a range of delicious local products, including cheese, yoghurt and ice cream. The shop is open every Friday from 9.00 to 17.00 and Saturday from 9.00 to 15.00.
